Tilburg, April 17, 2025 – We are pleased to announce that the city of Tilburg has officially approved the building permit for the residential development at Bredaseweg 61-65! Residentie Bredaseweg is located on the former site of the renowned Gianotten printing facility. Designed by Forum Architecten en Planners and commissioned by Loeff van de Wal Vastgoed B.V., the project is now set to move forward.
Project Overview
The development plan includes the construction of 37 apartments, divided over two buildings, as well as six terraced houses at the rear of the site. A basement with storage units will also be built to enhance functionality and resident convenience.
Historical Location with a New Purpose
Known locally as a landmark, Drukkerij Gianotten operated on this site for over a century before closing its doors in 2020. The transformation of this historic location into a vibrant new residential community marks a significant evolution for the area. The new development, named Residentie Bredaseweg, has been carefully designed to reflect the site’s industrial heritage, giving the buildings a contemporary yet distinctive architectural character.
Introducing Residentie Bredaseweg
Residentie Bredaseweg stands out not only for its design but also for its innovative housing concept. It combines traditional residential units with a limited number of ambulant care apartments, creating a diverse and inclusive living environment for a wide range of residents. This thoughtful mix allows for care services to be offered on-site to those who need it. The mix is fostering a supportive and connected community.
Urban living in a prime location
The site’s central location, close to the city center, public transport, and local amenities, makes it ideal for urban living with a sense of space and greenery. Forum made sure the architecture blends harmoniously into the urban fabric of Bredaseweg. The project is introducing a modern and sustainable addition to the neighborhood.
“We are thrilled that this project can now move ahead,” said Forum architecten en planners. “It’s a special location, and we’re proud to contribute a high-quality living environment with real social value.”
Loeff van de Wal Vastgoed B.V. expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the permit process. Now that approval has been granted, preparations for construction will begin shortly. They aim breaking ground in the near future.
A meaningful contribution to Tilburg
With its combination of heritage, thoughtful design, and social inclusiveness, Residentie Bredaseweg (see the news paper article from january 2022) will make a meaningful contribution to Tilburg’s housing market and urban landscape.
